Information:
The PDI® G101 and ASME 112.
14.3 standards test the ability of grease recovery
systems to retain grease by using an influent
which contains 1lb. of grease per 10 gallons of
water (Approximately 12,000 milligrams of grease
per liter of water).
A 25 GPM grease recovery system
is considered to pass the test if after passing
50 lbs. of grease in 500 gallons of water into
the unit; the unit retains a minimum of 45 lbs.
of grease. It is stated to be 90% eicient; however
most PDI approved units are considerably more
efficient than 90%.<>
A PDI approved unit that passes
the PDI test at 90% eiciency is passing 1.6
ounces of grease per 10 gals of effluent up to
its rated capacity. A unit that passes the test
with a 98% ring is only passing 0.32 ounces
of grease per 10 gallons of effluent up to its
rated retention capacity. |
