Impregnated Activated Carbon

Ecologix provides several different grades of impregnated activated carbon for those special applications where either standard non-treated carbon does not work or where activated carbon's adsorptive capacity can be greatly enhanced through impregnation.

KI/Potassium Iodide Impregnated Coal Based Activated Carbon

It is effective for the desulphurization of gases and the removal of acidic contaminants such as hydrogen sulfide, hydrogen chloride, and mercaptans. The percentage of potassium iodine can be varied upon request.

 
Sulfur Impregnated Coal Based Activated Carbon

Activated Carbon pellets impregnated with sulfur have been designed to remove mercury vapor steams. Sulfur impregnated carbon beds should not be exposed to liquid hydrocarbon as this can leach the sulfur impregnation from the bed. Organic Mercury can be effectively removed with sulfur impregnated carbons; however this is adsorption rather than chemical reaction, requiring significantly increased contact times.

Potassium Permanganate Impregnated Pelletized Coal Based Activated Carbon

Pelletized coal base activated carbon impregnated with potassium permanganate. It is ideal for certain applications where activated carbon is ineffective like the adsorption of polar or lower molecular weight compounds. This pelletized carbon is advantageous to similar granular products for use in certain types of panel filters and in applications where lower pressure drop is required.

 
Silver Impregnated Coconut Shell Activated Carbon

This type of carbon is made from coconut shell and activated through high temperature & high pressure steam. This carbon is impregnated with silver, a known Bacteriostatic agent to inhibit the growth of bacteria with in the carbon media. This product is used only for manufacturing or fabricating bacteriostatic water filter products for home use, cartridges, potable water, and beverage water.

This product is NSF certified and is totally compatible with all municipal water treatment use.
