Type Granular Coconut Shell Based Activated Carbon - Vapor Phase
Benefits / Description

VC-GAC-Coconut 4 x 8 is a coconut based granular activated carbon made especially for use in a vapor applications. Its particle size and pore structure have been specifically designed to provide the best adsorption of impurities from vapor steam with the least flow resistance. Coconut shell activated carbon comes from coconut shells that have undergone a steam activation process to create its activated carbon form. During activation, it creates millions of pores at the surface of the carbon thus increasing the total surface area. Activated carbon pores can be divided into three categories, Micro-pores (less than 2nm dia.), Meso-pores (range 2-25 nm), and Macro-pores (more than 25nm dia.). Coconut shell carbon has mainly micro-pores to macro-pores and due to its unique distribution of pores diameter, it is very popular in the gas phase purification and potable water purification industries.

Coconut shell carbon is harder than granular coal based carbon. It also has lower attrition and higher yields when reactivated. It has a long life expectancy and superior removal efficiency. Coconut shell performs best at 70-80 RH.

This product is manufactured to adsorb odiferous by-products, and VOC's, as well as adsorption of trace contaminates.

VC-GAC-Coconut 4 x 8 is processed from coconut shell for its hardness and activated at high temperature using steam process to develop internal surface area. The activated product is crushed and classified by size.
